Over the next few weeks, I’m going to be sharing how to draft and sew a pair of made to measure leggings. And while my fellow radcrafters test sew, and the kinks are worked out of the instructions, here are some tips for getting started.
You will need the following equipment:
- A measuring tape
- A helpful friend
- A large french curve
- A pencil
- Very Large Paper
- 1 1/2 to 1 3/4 yards of appropriate fabric and matching thread
- Cutting tools of choice
- A sewing machine or serger
Optional equipment to make your life easier:
- A calculator
- A 24″ quilting ruler
- scratch paper
Expect some posts on choosing a fabric, a cutting method, and explicit instructions for measuring, drafting, and sewing. And get PUMPED because very soon you will want to make leggings ALL THE TIME.
Dude no pls don’t I don’t even own a sewing machine and you’re going to start a new expensive addiction nooooooooo
You don’t mean thaaaaaaat. I mean it’s just as expensive as knitting and you can only do it at home but then you get LEGGINGS
I can’t wait to draft leggings that are actually long enough!!
