It’s Tuesday Queuesday! Don’t know what that is? I don’t blame you, we just made it up! In these posts we’ll talk about our plans for future projects. A place to gather thoughts and figure things out.
Ok Fezziwig unleashed an absolute SWEATER MONSTER deep inside of me because here is my queueueueueue-ing of a sweater I finished the yoke on last night.
- Pattern: Solo, my project page
- Date queued: Never? I use my queue very specifically
- Yarn required: 531 – 1050 yards (bust sizes 86-90-94-99-104-109 cm)
- Yarn purchased: Juniper Moon Farm Moonshine in Rope Swing, 5 skeins (985 yards)
- Difficulties foreseen:
- Sizing – I chose size 46 to give me some positive ease, but I HAVE NO IDEA HOW THIS IS SUPPOSED TO FIT
- Seriously, why don’t knitting pattern designers give EASE guidance
- WTF TELL ME HOW MUCH EASE I SHOULD KNIT FOR
- OR AT LEAST HOW MUCH EASE IS BUILT IN
- ALSO A MODELED SHOT WOULD BE NICE AND NO THE MANNEQUIN DOES NOT COUNT; WOULD IT COUNT IN A DEPARTMENT STORE? NO
- The pleats on the sleeves are new and interesting
- I wonder if my alpaca blend yarn will grow with the weight of a sweater on it
- Sizing – I chose size 46 to give me some positive ease, but I HAVE NO IDEA HOW THIS IS SUPPOSED TO FIT
Gauge Swatches:
I knit my single swatch on the pattern recommended needles, and blocked it by soaking it and patting it out and then magic happened. Bang on for stitch and row gauge:
I feel like it’s weird there’s nothing here for scale. Like…this is the most useless picture ever. But, it’s my swatch! PROOF.
And for my current progress?
It’s…progressing. Quickly!~
And I’m on the second skein. Just like that.
THIS IS WHY WE CAN’T HAVE NICE THINGS.
This is the problem with indie contributors. I love them, but… they are not for beginners.
